True Data Trumps Global Warming Alarmists…Warming Ended 16 Years Ago

Global warming stopped 16 years ago, reveals Met Office report quietly released… and here is the chart to prove it

  • The figures reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012 there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures
  • This means that the ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996

The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.

The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.

This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.

global temperature changes

The new data, compiled from more than 3,000 measuring points on land and sea, was issued  quietly on the internet, without any media fanfare, and, until today, it has not been reported.

This stands in sharp contrast  to the release of the previous  figures six months ago, which went only to the end of 2010 – a very warm year.

Ending the data then means it is possible to show a slight warming trend since 1997, but 2011 and the first eight months of 2012 were much cooler, and thus this trend is erased.

No More Mother and Father, France Is Leading The Way In Redifining The Family

We will be seeing ideas like this spread more and more. There is an effort to redefine the family. Regardless of your feelings about alternative families, If the meaning of mother and father is watered down then the clout of their position will be diminished, and the state will gladly fill that void. This is the backdoor to tearing down parental rights. This follows numerous UN plans about the state needing to usurp the rights of the parents. It may not seem like it now, but it is all about baby steps…

‘Parent 1’ and ‘parent 2’ could legally replace mom and dad in France

PARIS — If France’s new Socialist government has its way, mothers and fathers will cease to exist — in legal papers, that is.

Legislation that would legalize same-sex marriage and give homosexual couples the right to adopt children also would replace the terms “mother” and “father” with “parent 1” and “parent 2” in all legal documents, including birth certificates.

The proposal has outraged France’s religious establishment and triggered a wave of criticism from many who say such changes to French law should be put to a public vote.

“A referendum must be held to allow a real debate,” Dominique Rey, Roman Catholic bishop of the southern region of Frejus-Toulon, said in an interview with online news outlet Nouvelles de France.

“A majority of the population agrees with the traditional view of marriage,” he said, warning against opening a “Pandora’s box” and “questioning the natural order of things.”…..

Nobel Committee Shows Support For A Growing Empire With A Failing Economy and Dying National Sovereignty

Once again the Nobel committee shows that their definition of peace has little to do with actual peace. The EU is being praised because it has made leaps and bounds in implementing the ideas of global government.

It’s got a collapsing currency and rioting on the streets but the European Union wins the Nobel PEACE Prize

  • Nobel committee said the award was for ‘the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights’
  • But critics condemn the move at a time when the bloc is gripped by the Eurozone crisis and facing serious questions about its future
  • Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg says it is ‘slightly interesting’ to give to the award to an ‘acronym’
  • Tory MEPs joke the Nobel committee ‘is a little late for an April fools joke’ and declare: ‘Parody is redundant’
  • Tony Blair hails the EU as ‘one of the defining concepts’ of the last 50 years
  • The prize is awarded by a panel of five people from Norway – which is not even a member of the EU

By Matt Chorley, Mailonline Political Editor

PUBLISHED: 04:12 EST, 12 October 2012 | UPDATED: 20:25 EST, 12 October 2012

The European Union was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize yesterday, despite a year marked by rioting  and the prospect of an acrimonious break-up of the euro.

Awarding the prize, the Norwegian committee praised the EU for its  six decades of contributions ‘to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights  in Europe’.

However, the announcement caused widespread bemusement and derision, with critics pointing out that it comes as the eurozone battles the worst recession for nearly a century.

The past 12 months have also seen Brussels help to push aside the democratically elected governments in Greece and Italy, and widespread civil unrest and rioting.

This week saw Greek citizens dressed as Nazis burn swastika flags to protest at a visit to Athens by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Last night former Chancellor Lord Lamont ridiculed the decision, saying: ‘Today’s decision seems preposterous and absurd.

‘It would require a heart of stone not to die of laughter. It is the most ridiculous decision since the committee gave the peace prize to Barack Obama when he had been US President for two minutes.’

Nobel committee chairman  Thorbjoern Jagland acknowledged that the EU was facing ‘grave  economic difficulties and considerable social unrest’.

But he insisted: ‘The stabilising part played by the EU has helped to transform most of Europe from a continent of war to a continent of peace.’ The announcement was greeted with glee in Brussels, where European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso added: ‘The EU is something very precious.

We should cherish it for the good of Europeans and for the good of the entire world.’

And former prime minister Tony Blair said: ‘The EU is one of the defining concepts of the last half century.

We would do well to remember that when the Second World War ended Europe was in ruins. What followed has been over 50 years of peace and progress.’

However, UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage said: ‘Never a week goes by that we don’t see riots and protests in capital cities against the economic prison they have imposed. Rather than bring peace and harmony, the EU will cause insurgency and violence.’

Arch eurosceptic Bill Cash said: ‘It is like giving an Oscar to a box office flop. It is thanks to Nato, the Marshall Plan and the help of the United States that Europe maintained peace after World War Two, certainly not the European Union.’

Ridicule also flowed in from the City, where businesses and banks fear a breakup of the euro. Peter Hargreaves, co-founder of financial adviser Hargreaves Lansdown, said: ‘It’s mad. It will be interesting to see if they take it back if Greece dissolves into martial law.’

Sponsors Pull Out From Debates In Support Of Gary Johnson And Non-Partisan Politics

The Presidential elections have been controlled for a long time. The proof of that is the lack of any representation of any party besides the Democrat and Republican. The American public has begun clamoring for more and better choices, and now their has been a slight backlash for excluding those not ordained by the major political parties. This is a step in the right direction. If we are to ever have representatives that truly represent the people we need to hear idea which do not have major money and political parties behind them. If a candidate is a product of money and major parties they will never be trying to appease the people. To truly listen to the people would be defying their makers. The citizens must run with this. If a candidate can not get into the debates or be on every ballot it is not a true choice. If we are not given this soon the only option we will have left is boycotting. It will prove the election is a shame if the people do not vote en masse. That is why all dictators have demanded the people vote.

Two Sponsors Pull Out From Debates Over Exclusion Of Gary Johnson

October 1, 2012

Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party candidate for president, addresses an audience of students and the public at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.

This post was updated at 11:38 a.m. to include comment from the Gary Johnson campaign.

At least two of the original sponsors of the 2012 presidential debates have pulled their support over the exclusion of Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson, arguing that the commission which runs the debates is locked into a two-party outlook.

The first presidential debate will take place in Denver on Wednesday between President Barack Obama and Republican contender Mitt Romney.

Multinational corporation Philips Electronics and the women’s organization the YWCA both dropped their sponsorship after being flooded with E-mails and letters from supporters of former Republican New Mexico Gov. Johnson, as well as two election watchdog groups, Open Debates and Help the Commission.

“I’ve been trying this since 2004 … and this is first time any sponsor has peeled off from supporting the commission,” says George Farah of Open Debates, who wrote the book No Debate: How the Republican and Democratic Parties Secretly Control the Presidential Debates. “For this to happen on the eve of the first presidential debate is a remarkable act.”

The Commission on Presidential Debates, which runs the debate logistics, didn’t immediately respond to request for comment from Whispers. But the commission, which is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation and relies heavily on sponsors, is likely to feel the impact of its missing sponsors.

Back in July, the commission’s executive director Janet Brown told Whispers that Johnson could possibly appear in the debates. Over the last month, however, it became clear that Johnson did not have the polled support of at least 15 percent of the national electorate, one of the commission’s three debate participation requirements. Last week, Johnson filed a lawsuit over his exclusion from the debates, but that effort is not expected to be successful.

In a letter announcing its sponsorship withdrawal, Philips wrote that it was concerned the commission’s work “may appear to support bi-partisan” instead of “non-partisan” politics. YWCA similarly wrote that it was dropping out because it is a “non-partisan” women’s organization.

Joe Hunter, spokesman for the Gary Johnson campaign, says of the pulled sponsors: “It appears that they have recognized what we have recognized – that the debate commission is a product of the Democratic and Republican National committees, and that they have structured the rules and their agreements among themselves to exclude third party candidates like Gov. Johnson.”

American Media Protecting China: Protesting In China 1989 Vs. 2012

Why is it that when protestors dare confront the police state of China in 1989 it was celebrated world news, but when a similar story happens in 2012 no one seems to care? Is this a simple case of oversight? We are a country that prides itself on the highest standards of human rights, we claim to be invested in the freedoms for all those in the world. Why does China continuously get a free pass on their human rights violations? Is it just a matter of not wanting to upset the country that is vital to ensuring our currency continues to survive (barely at times)? Is it a deeper issue that the UN sees China as one of the model states for implementation of sustainable development and a successful economy for the future? Are we protecting the image their image? Either way if this allowed to go by the way side we can not take any other claims of truly being invested in human rights for all in the world very seriously. Our facade is fading away…

Man Crushed by Steamroller On Orders of Chinese Officials

Villager attempted to resist forced government relocation

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
September 25, 2012

A villager in northern China attempting to resist a forced government relocation by remaining on his land was brutally crushed to death by a road flattening truck on the orders of a Chinese government official.

The story, which was censored in China’s state controlled media, has caused outrage amongst users of Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, given it’s horrifying similarity to what happened to student protesters who were crushed to death by tanks during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989.

The victim, He Zhi Hua, refused to accept a paltry payment from the government which has forcefully evicted Changsha Village locals in order to re-appropriate their land for commercial use.

When Hua began a protest by lying down on the spot through which construction vehicles had to pass, the local Vice Mayor ordered workers for the state-owned company to murder Hua by driving over his body with a huge road-flattening truck.

Shocking images show Hua’s pulverized brains and his mangled body in the aftermath of the state-sponsored execution.

Fearing unrest if the story got out to a wider audience, the government sent in 200 men to keep angry locals at bay and hide the remains of the body. The man’s family was offered a sum of money in order to keep quiet about the incident.

China is routinely rocked by riots staged by residents furious at the arbitrary theft of their land by the state, which under the Communist system claims that the government owns all land and that private property rights are non-existent. However, the state-owned media ensures that news of the protests does not reach a national audience.

In another similar case in Pan Jin City, when villager Wang Shi Jie tried to prevent workers hired by local government officials destroying his crops and confiscating his land before harvest, he was shot dead. When Jie’s father attempted to rush to his son’s aid, he was shot in the leg twice.

After the incident, hundreds of police officers were sent to dispose of the body and beat up villagers who complained about the man’s murder. The dispute started after it emerged that the agricultural land was being sold by the government to developers without the villagers having been notified.

Hua’s and Jie’s brave efforts in standing up to the savage Communist Party officials also brings to mind the courageous actions of Wang Weilin – otherwise known as ‘Tank Man’ or ‘The Unknown Rebel’. Weilin blocked the path of a column of Chinese tanks the morning after the Tiananmen Square massacre – footage that has become an iconic representation of the individual standing up against an oppressive state.

Tank Man, or the Unknown Rebel, is the nickname of an anonymous man who stood in front of a column of Chinese Type 59 tanks the morning after the Chinese military forcibly removed protestors from in and around Beijing’s Tiananmen Square on June 5, 1989. The man achieved widespread international recognition due to the videotape and photographs taken of the incident.

Harvard Study Show Fluoride Lowers IQ

As more and more towns are successfully removing fluoride from their water the evidence of the dangerous of sodium fluoride is growing. A recent Harvard study reaffirmed the dangerous affects upon the human neurological system. The study has become so popular among the anti-fluoride crowd that now they only have ridiculousness to counter a study with a name like Harvard behind it. They must think we have drank too much fluoride….

Harvard now ridiculously insists that fluoride only lowers IQ levels outside the United States

Ethan A. Huff
Natural News
Sept 25, 2012

Intense industry pressure to continue mass medicating Americans with fluoride chemicals via public water supplies has apparently influenced Harvard University researchers to backtrack on a recent study they conducted that verified fluoride chemicals lower IQ levels in children. We are now being told the absurd lie that fluoride is only detrimental to people in other countries, and that Americans need not worry about ingesting and bathing in the toxic brew here in the states.

A recent pro-fluoride article published by the industry-backed Wichita Eagle petitions Wichitans, who will soon vote on whether or not to fluoridate their local water supply, not to oppose the city’s upcoming fluoride measure based on the Harvard study because the study’s findings allegedly only apply to Chinese children. The piece encourages Wichitans to essentially ignore this and other science showing the dangers of fluoride, or at least pretend as though none of it applies to them.

And the reason these pro-fluoride fanatics are using to make the ridiculous claim that the Harvard study’s findings do not apply in the U.S. is that the fluoride levels evaluated in China were supposedly far higher than they typically are in domestic water supplies. Thus, consuming or bathing in fluoridated municipal water poses little risk, they say, so drink up!

Fluoride levels used in Harvard study comparable to those used in U.S.

But is this even true? The Harvard review, which was published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, includes a comparison of IQ levels among children living in a village with an average fluoride concentration of 0.36 milligrams per liter (mg/L) to the IQ levels of children in another village with a fluoride concentration of 2.47 mg/L. Clearly, neither of these levels is above the federal government’s maximum allowable concentration of 4 mg/L. (http://www.prnewswire.com)

A 2.47 mg/L concentration of fluoride, which is considered “high,” is hardly “ten times what we see here in the U.S.,” an erroneous claim made by pro-fluoride fanatic Larry Hund, a Wichita-based pediatrician and leader of Wichitans for Healthy Teeth, the primary group in Wichita pushing for water fluoridation. Some U.S. cities, in fact, have fluoride levels that exceed the 2.47 mg/L level of fluoride evaluated in the Harvard study, which means it most definitely has relevance in the current debate over whether or not to fluoridate. (http://www.thenewamerican.com)

Even if you buy into the claim that the roughly 0.7 mg/L of fluoride that Wichita plans to add to its water supply is less than what was used in the Harvard fluoride study, there is still no solid evidence proving that even this lower level is safe. Since fluoride tends to accumulate in glands and tissue over time, any level of repeated exposure appears to be dangerous, not to mention the fact that the jury is still out about whether or not ingesting fluoride provides any legitimate oral health benefits whatsoever.

“The key takeaway for me in the (Harvard) study is, one, they didn’t rule out the danger (of fluoride), and two, they said further research is necessary,” said Don Landis, a spokesman for the group Wichitans Opposed to Fluoridation. “That’s what we’re saying; the science is not settled. No research is done on low-dosage fluoride, (and) the Harvard study is very valuable in pointing that out.”

Government Testing Sprayed Radiation On Unsuspecting Citizens

Few know the history of America testing on their citizens. It should be noted that according to international law it is legal for the government to do almost anything to their own citizens as long as it is done in the name of research. We need to realize that the welfare of the citizens mean nothing to those in our government if it furthers their positions and power. This history needs to be known and always remembered. If it was done in the past and remained secret how could we expect there to be anything different in the practices of today’s government and military? We can only guess to what extent we are being tested on today, but there is little to no doubt it is happening somewhere without our knowledge or warning.

Revealed: Army scientists secretly sprayed St Louis with ‘radioactive’ particles for YEARS to test chemical warfare technology

By Emily Anne Epstein

PUBLISHED: 09:16 EST, 29 September 2012 | UPDATED: 11:21 EST, 29 September 2012

The United States Military conducted top secret experiments on the citizens of St. Louis, Missouri, for years, exposing them to radioactive compounds, a researcher has claimed.

While it was known that the government sprayed ‘harmless’ zinc cadmium silfide particles over the general population in St Louis, Professor Lisa Martino-Taylor, a sociologist at St. Louis Community College, claims that a radioactive additive was also mixed with the compound.

She has accrued detailed descriptions as well as photographs of the spraying which exposed the unwitting public, predominantly in low-income and minority communities, to radioactive particles.

Spray

‘The study was secretive for reason. They didn’t have volunteers stepping up and saying yeah, I’ll breathe zinc cadmium sulfide with radioactive particles,’ said Professor Martino-Taylor to KSDK.

Through her research, she found photographs of how the particles were distributed from 1953-1954 and 1963-1965.

In Corpus Christi, the chemical was dropped from airplanes over large swathes of city.  In St Louis, the Army put chemical sprayers on buildings, like schools and public housing projects, and mounted them in station wagons for mobile use.

Despite the extent of the experiment, local politicians were not notified about the content of the testing. The people of St Louis were told that the Army was testing smoke screens to protect cities from a Russian attack.

‘It was pretty shocking. The level of duplicity and secrecy. Clearly they went to great lengths to deceive people,’ Professor Martino-Taylor said.

She accrued hundreds of pages of declassified information, which she has made available online.

In her research, she found that the greatest concentration of spraying in St Louis was at the Pruitt-Igoe public housing complex, which was home to 10,000 low income residents.  She said that 70 per cent of those residents were children under the age of 12.

Professor Martino-Taylor became interested in the topic after hearing independent reports of cancers among city residents living in those areas at the time.

‘This was a violation of all medical ethics, all international codes, and the military’s own policy at that time,’ said Professor Martino-Taylor.

School

‘There is a lot of evidence that shows people in St. Louis and the city, in particular minority communities, were subjected to military testing that was connected to a larger radiological weapons testing project.’

Previous investigations of the compound were rebuffed by the military, which insisted it was safe.

However, Professor Martino-Taylor believes the documents she’s uncovered, prove the zinc cadmium silfide was also mixed with radioactive particles.

She has linked the St Louis testing to a now-defunct company called US Radium. The controversial company came under fire, and numerous lawsuits, after several of its workers were exposed to dangerous levels of radioactive materials in its fluorescent paint.

‘US Radium had this reputation where they had been found legally liable for producing a radioactive powdered paint that killed many young women who painted fluorescent watch tiles,’ said Professor Martino-Taylor.

In her findings, one of the compounds that was sprayed upon the public was called ‘FP2266’, according to the army’s documents, and was manufactured by US Radium. The compound, also known as Radium 226, was the same one that killed and sickened many of the US Radium workers.

The Right To Know What Is In Your Food: California Preparing To Vote On Labeling GMO Food

There are those who are trying to save themselves from the many different negative affects of consuming GMO food. Californians want to force all food contain modified genes to be labeled as such. With so much of our food being produced in the State of California this would be a major win for peoples’ rights to know what is in the food they eat.

Is The End of Monsanto Near? Prop 37 Succeeding as Nations Ban GMO Crops

Anthony Gucciardi
Infowars.com
September 28, 2012

Is the end of Monsanto within reach? It has certainly been a rough couple of weeks for the mega corporation as the real dangers surrounding GMOs are being brought to the attention of consumers on a global scale like never before.

It all started with the monumental French study finding a serious link between the consumption of Monsanto’s Roundup-drenched GMOs and massive tumors. Being called the ‘most thorough’ research ever published on the real health effects of GMOs, the study led to even larger victories.

After the study not only did France call for a potential worldwide ban on GMOs pending the results of their in-depth analysis, but Russia’s major consumer rights organization announced a ban on both the importation and use of Monsanto’s GMO corn.

Prop 37 Can Label Monsanto Out of Existence

And now, the Proposition to label all GMOs in the state of California is showing massive success. If Prop 37 passes, it won’t just affect California. It is very likely that other states will not just take note, but adopt similar legislation. Through this legal mechanism, we can essential label Monsanto out of existence. This is possible when considering that the average consumer is actually opposed to GMOs and heavily in favor of proper labeling.

In a major Los Angeles Times poll, registered California voters in favor of labeling outnumber pro-GMO voters by more than a 2-to-1 margin. Altogether, a whopping 61% of those polled reported supporting the Prop 37 labeling initiative. Only 25% reported opposing it.

If GMO-containing products are properly labeled, the simple fact of the matter is that less people will buy them. As of right now, very few people are even aware of what they are putting in their mouth. In fact, if the public knew that they were consuming GMOs which were linked to massive tumors and organ failure, the overwhelming majority would abandon such products. Without labeling, however, they have no idea. The same can also be said for other ingredients like high-fructose corn syrup and aspartame.

As Yes on 37 campaign manager Gary Ruskin explains:

“Monsanto, DuPont, and Coca-Cola do not want Californians to know what’s really in their food and drinks, because they fear consumers will turn away from their genetically engineered ingredients and pesticides that go with them.”

If they knew they were eating mercury in the HFCS and consuming an artificial sweetener with over 42 associated diseases, then major change would occur – change that includes forcing manufacturers to abandon these ingredients in order to stay profitable. And after all, Monsanto’s number one goal is profit. This is a company that has been caught running ‘slave-like’ working conditions in which ‘employees’ were forced to buy only from the company store and were not allowed to leave the area or their pay would be withheld.

If Monsanto’s profits were to plummet, their political reign would likely follow as well. Without an endless amount of cash to throw at crushing Prop 37, already contributing $4 million to fuel anti-labeling propaganda in California, the corporation’s massive grasp on the world of science (continually censoring studies and funding pro-GM research) and politics would virtually cease to exist.

It is essential that we ensure the passing of Prop 37 in a bid to generate the literal end of Monsanto. Once consumers actually know that they’re putting genetically modified creations into their body, real change will occur within the food supply.

Danger: GMO Corn Causes Cancer In Rats. Are We Killing Ourselves?

Our grocery stores are becoming filled with products that are genetically modified, but we have not been told all the facts about the effects of consuming food with modified DNA. There has been many people who have warned of the problems with consuming GMO foods. Even Monsanto(one of the leading companies producing GMO crops) purposely limits the amount of GMO foods in their own cafeterias. Studies on the effects have been limited due to companies like Monsanto using the patents which they hold on these crops as a legal protection against independent studies looking into their genes. Finally a study has looked into the results of rats consuming GMO corn. Here are some of the results….

New GMO study: Rats fed lifetime of GM corn grow tumors, 70% of females die early

Mike Adams
naturalnews.com
September 19, 2012

Eating genetically modified corn (GM corn) and consuming trace levels of Monsanto’s Roundup chemical fertilizer caused rats to develop horrifying tumors, widespread organ damage, and premature death. That’s the conclusion of a shocking new study that looked at the long-term effects of consuming Monsanto’s genetically modified corn.

The study has been deemed “the most thorough research ever published into the health effects of GM food crops and the herbicide Roundup on rats.” News of the horrifying findings is spreading like wildfire across the internet, with even the mainstream media seemingly in shock over the photos of rats with multiple grotesque tumors… tumors so large the rats even had difficulty breathing in some cases. GMOs may be the new thalidomide.

“Monsanto Roundup weedkiller and GM maize implicated in ‘shocking’ new cancer study” wrote The Grocery, a popular UK publication. (http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/topics/technology-and-supply-chain/monsant…)

It reported, “Scientists found that rats exposed to even the smallest amounts, developed mammary tumors and severe liver and kidney damage as early as four months in males, and seven months for females.”

The Daily Mail reported, “Fresh row over GM foods as French study claims rats fed the controversial crops suffered tumors.” (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2205509/Fresh-fears-GM…)

It goes on to say: “The animals on the GM diet suffered mammary tumors, as well as severe liver and kidney damage. The researchers said 50 percent of males and 70 percent of females died prematurely, compared with only 30 percent and 20 percent in the control group.”

The study, led by Gilles-Eric Seralini of the University of Caen, was the first ever study to examine the long-term (lifetime) effects of eating GMOs. You may find yourself thinking it is absolutely astonishing that no such studies were ever conducted before GM corn was approved for widespread use by the USDA and FDA, but such is the power of corporate lobbying and corporate greed.

The study was published in The Food & Chemical Toxicology Journal and was just presented at a news conference in London.

Findings from the study

Here are some of the shocking findings from the study:

• Up to 50% of males and 70% of females suffered premature death.

• Rats that drank trace amounts of Roundup (at levels legally allowed in the water supply) had a 200% to 300% increase in large tumors.

• Rats fed GM corn and traces of Roundup suffered severe organic damage including liver damage and kidney damage.

• The study fed these rats NK603, the Monsanto variety of GM corn that’s grown across North America and widely fed to animals and humans. This is the same corn that’s in your corn-based breakfast cereal, corn tortillas and corn snack chips.

Russia has suspended the import and use of an American GM corn following a study suggesting a link to breast cancer and organ damage.

Separately, the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA), has ordered its own review in to the research, which was conducted at a French university.

The decision by Russia could be followed by other nations in what would be a severe blow to the take-up of the controversial technology.

Historically, biotech companies have proved the safety of GM crops based on trials involving feeding rats for a period of 90 days.

However, experts at the University of Caen conducted an experiment running for the full lives of rats – two years.

The findings, which were peer reviewed by independent experts before being published in a respected scientific journal, found raised levels of breast cancer, liver and kidney damage.

The same trials also found evidence that consumption of minuscule amounts of a commonly used weedkiller, Roundup, was associated with a raised risk of cancer.

Both the GM corn, which carries the name NK603, and Roundup are the creation of US biotech company Monsanto.

The decision by the Russians to suspend authorisation for the American GM corn threatens to trigger a transatlantic commercial and diplomatic row.

Russia’s consumer rights watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, said today that it has suspended the import and use of the Monsanto GM corn.

Rospotrebnadzor said the country’s Institute of Nutrition has been asked to assess the validity of the study.

It has also contacted the European Commission’s Directorate General for Health & Consumers to ask for the EU’s position on the corn’s safety.

Consumer scepticism in the UK and Europe means GM corn is not on supermarket shelves here, however it is fed to farm animals, including hens, pigs and dairy cows.

Is America Capable Of Provoking War

If you don’t think that the government is willing or capable of purposely provoking a war, then maybe you should ask  Patrick Clawson, director of research at The Washington Institute how America should handle Iran. Here is a video of Patrick Clawson explaining what might be the best way of finally bringing some sort of a resolution to all the tension dealing with Iran. In short….
